What AnvyoAI collects, why, who can see it, how long it is kept, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
This document is a website draft prepared for Social House Learning. It is not legal advice. SHL should have the final text reviewed and approved by qualified legal counsel, and every placeholder completed, before this page is published to a live production site.
About this policy
This policy explains what information AnvyoAI collects, why it is collected, how it is used and how long it is kept. AnvyoAI is a career and academic navigation platform operated by Social House Learning, referred to in this document as SHL, we or us.
Many people using AnvyoAI are school students. This policy is written in plain English so that a student, a parent or a guardian can read it without a legal background.

AI processing and automated recommendations
AnvyoAI uses AI systems to produce recommendations, summaries and mentor responses. This means some of the text you see is generated automatically rather than written by a person.
- AI output is guidance. It is not a decision made about you, and it does not restrict what you can study or apply for.
- AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Verify anything consequential against official sources.
- You can ask us how a recommendation was produced, and you can ask for a human to review a summary that seems wrong. Requests go to the privacy contact listed above.
The AI Ethics and Safety page describes our approach in more detail, including which providers are used.
Students under 18
AnvyoAI is designed for students in Grades 9 to 12, which means many users are minors. Additional care applies.
- We collect the smallest amount of information a feature genuinely needs
- Discovery activities are guidance tools and are not psychological or diagnostic assessments
- We do not run behavioural advertising to students, and we do not build advertising profiles
- Requirements for guardian consent, and the mechanism for obtaining it, are set out on the Data Protection page
- A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a student's information
Where a school provides AnvyoAI to its students, the arrangement between SHL and that school also governs how student information is handled. Those terms are agreed in writing before any student account is created.
Storage and retention
Where information is stored: [TO BE COMPLETED BY SHL]
Retention periods: [TO BE COMPLETED BY SHL]
As a general rule we keep account information while an account is active, and delete or de-identify it within a defined period after an account is closed or a school programme ends. The exact periods for each category are listed on the Data Protection page once confirmed.
Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit and internal handling rules to protect information. Access to student information within SHL is limited to people who need it to run the service.
No online service can promise perfect security, and we do not make that claim. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify affected users and any authority required by applicable law, using the process described on the Data Protection page.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us to do the following.
- Show you the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your account and the information connected to it
- Export a copy of the information you provided
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
- Raise a complaint about how your information has been handled
Send requests to [TO BE COMPLETED BY SHL]. We will confirm receipt, verify who is making the request, and respond within the period stated on the Data Protection page. Some records may need to be retained where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the product or the law changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Where a change is significant, we will give notice in the product or by email before it takes effect.
